 This package contains a build for the SVM, MIT/GNU Scheme's own virtual
 machine, rather than for a native-code back end.  It is portable to any
 architecture with a C compiler, at the cost of running considerably
 more slowly than a native build, and so is what you get on ports for
 which upstream has no native-code back end.  On an architecture that
 has one, prefer the mit-scheme package; the two can be installed
 together, and the alternatives system prefers the native build.
